They have forgotten that in Christ all was made new. Christ taught us that God is a Loving God. The old testament is about God as a vengeful God.

So, if they're missing out on the Loving God part, it kinda brings into question their Christianity.

That's just one woman's opinion

"capital punishment"
Why do libs fight tooth and nail to try to let rapists and murdurers out of prison. Why is it that Libs will put up a stink if a bird dies or a tree dies and they want to protect dangerous people so badly; yet at the same time they think that a conceived child doesn't have a right to life. This is twisted and sick.

"torturing "terrorists"
starting wars"
Why do Libs refuse to see the danger of terrorists. If you take America out of the equation, terrorism is still a very real global threat.

"hating sinners"
Do they tell you they hate you. Why is it that you assume you are hated because your world views and morals differ from somebody else?
Do you hate people based on their beliefs? Where else would you get the idea that they hate you.

Good point. I guess it is because the Old Testament allows things that are prohibited in the New. Like an eye for an eye in the Old Testament becomes turn the other cheek in the New. It's a good system you can have your cake and eat it too or you can have it both ways. Then you are never wrong!

Capital punishment can be supported in the New Testament. The other 3 are bogus... paper tigers... never heard Christians supporting any of them.

The Bible is a book of prophecy. Jesus quoted from the "Old Testament". You can't just read the scriptures you like and apply them to your life. You have to read the entire book and then you can see that it was divinely inspired.

Perhaps because our laws are based in part on the Pentateuch, which of course, is the first five books of the old testament.

Because it suits their purpose in justifying their position.

What's funny (strange) though is that if one is a "fundamentalist" christian and all the "jesus this" and "jesus that", you'd think they would focus on the new testament which is more "kinder-gentler"

Much of the old testament is historical in nature so it would obviouly reflect the times-- wars, harsh treatment, etc.

Oddly enough, seems conservatives are much more Old Testament while liberals are more New Testament. Contrary to what many people would have you believe, liberals aren't God-less.

Did you even think that Islamics use part of the OT? And as do the Jewish?

The OT isn't totally Christian..

Think before you speak, please.
