If you want to delete it you can, it's just a temp file windows makes if you look at thumbnails of pictures, you must have some pictures in that folder etc.

If you delete and look at the pics again it will recreate it. Or you can just leave it and it will do no harm.

If it is a shortcut icon, then deleting the icon will not delete the file. You should look at the properties to see when the file was created, last used, and which program(s) use it. If it is something you did not create or use, then you should be able to delete it. If the file resides in the root files or as part of your registry, then you should do more research before deleting it.

The "thumb" file is created in a directory whenever you do a thumbnail view of the directory. You can delete it if you want, but it is so small you could fit a few hundred onto a floppy, so you would gain anything by deleting it. Plus it will be recreated the next time you do a thumbnail view. So it would only be temporary if you deleted it. But you can if you want...

this is a system file, if u delete it it will be back the next time u restart the PC
this file is used to store the thumbinal " pic" that u c on the folder
just go to My computer then choose tools menu--->folder options
and then choose the tab called view and then check the filed " hide protected operating system files" and press OK and u will not c this file again

You have to watch what you delete cause some files are part of other files and can mess up the other file
