Im rigth on board with this, god is a creation on human beings. Man was here long before religon was created. Holy wars are an oxymoron. It is an opiate of the masses controlling peoples thinking and behavior. Without god we could actually live for the day and not be hung up on an afterlife. Humans inheriently self police themselves and know basically whats right and wrong. God just gives them the rigth to be closed minded and self-rightous. The illusion of god has done nothing but divide humans at the very core of exdistence, its a crutch for the weak minded, and one could become stronger by living up to ones own potential and not deriving fictious powers for above and asking and praying instead of ACTING. Giving credit to jesus when he didnt do a damn thing (athletes etc...). A very bad way to design a world if any case, science does not use god but god uses science, how does that work.

I think that if people didn't believe in God that the world would be a lot worse off then it is now. I believe in God and because I do so, I am a good person who doesn't believe in hurting others. As far as the suicide bombers go these are just a bunch of crazy people who use God as an excuse to justify killing innocent people.

For all that to happen, no culture, no nation, no community, world wide in every generation, would not invent "religion." Remember, our ancestors worshiped a pantheon of gods, goddesses, devils and demons long before we created a belief in One True God. For there to be no religious wars there would need to be no religion of any kind...not even conflicting views about atheism. Also consider what would be lost in our day-to-day behaviours and societal mechanisms if there never had been religion or belief in eternal life. From what source would we model our ethics? From what source would we model our relationships? From what source would we model our laws?
On and on goes the list.
The only thing NOT affected by religion and a belief in God is our free will. Our attitudes about free will would change, of course. Without God, we would believe our free will is absolute and limitted only by the rules we humans put in place.

Are you nuts?
If people would just follow God's word there would not be wars and suicide bombers.
And where have you ever seen animals living in peace? Animals are gready, they take care of their own but when it comes to other species they look after themselves.
It's people spreading garbage like your question that makes the world a crazy place to live.
Good one Wolfgame30, lol also good AnneG.

No, because organized religion provides much fulfillment to those who follow it. Those people could potentially feel very empty if it wasn't for their God. That's not to say I would or wouldn't, because I am agnostic. It may cause lots or problems, especially the separation of church and state stuff, and people trying to convert other people, but I think the good outweighs the bad. Just isn't for me.

I don't see that 'God' (if he exists) actually gets involved. After all, if we as parents allowed our children to harm themselves & others like mankind does, we'd have them taken off us! No, it's mankind using 'God' as an excuse. everyone claims 'God' is on their side, but he doesn't take sides, because he is supposed to be impartial and love ALL his children. After all, if we are to believe the holy books and scripture, God made us in his own image? Therefore, we are all the same in his eyes, surely? No, all the wars are man-made, and God was invented as the excuse. Religion has been the cause of more death & bloodshed than anything else in the history of the world. And I thought God was love thy neighbour! Some chance, eh?

Yeah!
Let's play a game in which the Christian God literally did everything in their Bible. God alone killed how many people? We are all inbred because of him. He hated women. God made the Pharaoh a jerk, so he could kill all the 1st born kids! He flooded the earth. He also made a young girl give birth to a child that God made other humans kill! In Leviticus 10, two men mixed up a fire wrong, and God burned them alive! In Exodus 3, there's a order from God for the Levites to kill 3000 people for the golden calf thing.

A world where certain religions were proved infallibly wrong and untrue would be a better place. Namely all three abrahamic traditions, judaism, islam, and christianity.
Its nice to imagine a world where groups of people arent creating self-fullfilling prophecies and claiming their fullfilment as inherent and ineffible proof that their god is the only one or that there even is one.

Yes, definitely.
Unfortunately, humans have always had the tendency to create dieties and higher powers since the beginninig of time. It seems to be impossible for most people to take responsibility for their own actions, and not rely on or blame some god or gods for solving problems and everything going on in the world.
PS - you don't need a god, to have laws or morality.

It would. There's just no argument opposing that. But there is God and if the name God was never heard there would be another name. Human's need Gods to give their life purpose and their actions meaning. You may as well wish away violence or greed or fear for all the good it does you.
