when a fish is dying, most organs have shut down. Remove it from the other fish and clean your tank with baking soda. Sorry

There are a lot of factors involved.
It is possible for fish that are suffering badly from disease, toxins or wounds to recover when the exact cause is quickly identified and the fish is provided with the appropriate treatment in a timely manner.
However in many cases, depending on the cause, the fish is too far gone when the signs of sickness appear. It's often a case by case situation.
Without additional info (like how long the fish has been like this, what its diet is, what's the water quality and parameters, what it's tank mates are, and a bunch of other factors), it's impossible to diagnose what's precisely wrong with your fish and provide a remedy that is guranteed to save it.
Often times the best way to minimize illness is to maintain fish in ideal conditions: (compatible tank size and tank mates, overfiltration, maintaining high water quality, ideal diet, quarantining all new fish, etc). When all of those are on the mark, the occurance or possibility of illness is greatly reduced.
This may not help your current fish, but may help your remaining or future fish.

oh.. for my experience, i'll put him to a small bowl with half of the water from tank and then add salt water or madichine (yellow powder mix with water) bit by bit + change half of the new water everyday(the new water have to exposes to the air for 24 hours, or just use drinking water, guarantee no bacteria, :-P ) . heat the temporature to 30, this can prevent others illness..
mostly, they can survive if the fish still strong (means if just get sick about 2 days).. or else its really no answer ...

If it is a goldfish or betta, it is bad to keep them in a bowl. It's worst for goldfish, because it leaves them gasping for air, and other reasons. But, i would do a water change, and look for white blotches, missing scales, frayed fins, or white spots. These are symptoms of diseases that goldfish can get. GO REASEARCH!!!!!!! Here is a website(s) that may help: http://www.kokosgoldfish.com/disease.html http://www.goldfishinfo.com/diagram.htm

Depends on what the problem is. The water needs to be tested. If there is a clorine or other type of problem that can be fixed. sometimes they will turn around for the better.

Tetracyclin - This is a medicine we human use, but it cures fish disease. I have aqaurium and tetracycin has saved many fishes of mine. You can also use some other medicine with same drug- tetracyclin.

ok. i am guessing. the fish might have white spots on it? if so there is a medication you geet from the pet store with a dropper and you drop however many drops it says. or if it is perfectly fine looking but on the bottom try to put it in its own little bowl and try to get it some food. TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH THE FISH WILL PROBABLY DIE, YOU CAN ALWAYS GET ANOTHER IT ISNT AS BIG OF A DEAL AS A DOG DYING.
