empty meaninglessness (his view of man and man's existence).. pretty sad view to have

he believed that a man must validate his existence by choosing some path. .

that there was no right or wrong, but you were to choose a path, whether [viewed by others as] right or wrong, to validate your existence.

Funny, he couldn't live with this view, as he ended up signing on to support and fight with the side of right in an international conflict. He apparently couldn't rid himself of the understanding (no matter how hard he tried) that there really IS a right choice and a wrong choice (in situations generally).

He couldn't live consistently with his view of man as only a material machine. Nobody can.

it truly is extraordinary, yet i do not shop in concepts the man. it type of feels it has already fallen into oblivion. yet - some 3500 years in the past someone stated (and wrote those words, nevertheless ok prevalent as someone and as a e book). Psalms, written via Solomon: "purely a fool has stated in his heart: there is not any God". atypical, no?

"Man is nothing else but what he purposes, he exists only in so far as he realizes himself, he is therefore nothing else but the sum of his actions, nothing else but what his life is."
