I think young women subconsciously must feel insecure and have no self respect, why else would they try acting like men ? Here in Scotland we call it the ladette culture, their attitude is if a man can do it so can we, for instance they drink pints and pints of beer, they swear like men, spit on the streets, vomit and urinate in doorways, fight in the streets, have sex with anyone
and don't bother to make themselves look attractive etc. I can never understand the logic in their thinking, if they believe they are equal to men why do they feel the need to copy them. I believe that men and women are totally equal although totally different.

The media isn't to blame but I will say that pop culture and young hollywood and young socialites are to blame. How many young girls idolize Paris, Lindsay, Britney, etc.
Parents are also to blame. When I was 14 I wouldn't be allowed out of the house alive with my belly showing or anything revealing. Parents are not as involved with their children as they used to be. Parents think that their child will tell them everything but they don't. Parents think being involved is taking them to and from sports practice, recitals and any other extra curricular activity. Familes are constantly on the go and usually going seperate ways. Parents are not instilling the morals and facing the issues. They want to blame everything else but themselves.

I won't blame you, and I won't blame lack of religion. But you do have to consider that all the stuff kids are seeing on TV and in the movies DOES influence them. Couple that with parents who aren't around to see what their kids are doing or are not interested in what their kids are doing AS WELL AS peer pressure and you have a reicpe for very promiscuous kids.

sorry but i do think that media plays a roll in it also with bad parenting and personality of the child the less flashy of the kids usually arent seen as much then they want to fit in and gradually become more and more well sluty but some grow out of it or think that they have done it for so long that it must be apart of them so with everything being said, its the people around us that we have contact with daily that can bring out either the good points or the bad points in people but its the strength of the person to determine weather or not this kind of behavior is good for them

I think our society is more accepting of promiscuity. Take for instance, young unwed mothers. It's so common, thus people are less likely to pass judgement. Trends in clothing can also be an attributing factor. It is popular to look as though one works in a strip joint.

First off, I'll answer any way I please :)
Second off, it may seem like there are more "sluts", but proportionately, there are probably not. The population grows, media coverage is faster, so it seems like we here more negative these days, and I don't believe it is increasing, any of it, not really.

I think pointing the blame to media etc is just an excuse to take the blame away from themselves, there's plenty of girls who aren't sluts yet are in the same day and age? I think most girls if not all girls are sexually curious at that age, it would be naive to think otherwise, but the ones who don't follow through with adult behaviour are the ones who deserve respect and always have it when they save themselves for adulthood and not give in to people before that merely for their own pleasure. Therefor they have no respect for themselves either. There is of course a lot of temptation out there, in the media etc, but it's merely temptation, it's not forcing then to do it, they make the choices and the more people blame the media n stuff the more they will think they have an excuse to go and do slutty things at a young age, I know plenty of the sort, they'll WANT to do slutty things knowing it's wrong, they'll get no respect from others or themselves etc, yet they still do it ....

I am sorry but why is it that when a woman enjoys sex she is called a bad name like that?
You don't call men that?
I have to say that I think women should be allowed the same sexual freedom that men do. And there is nothing wrong with it...
