Believe you me, I have asked this same question previously.

Apparently we still have young girls who continue to use this category to ask questions like: Isn't Cristiano Ronaldo cute?, Don't you think Phillip Lahm looks like a horse..er, beg your pardon, handsome? and so on and so forth.

Also, we have dozens of French sympathisers who can't comprehend the simple fact, that Zidane made a big blunder in the Final, costing his team victory. Instead they choose to undermine the winners with poor arguments.

The icing on the cake was a so called football fan, who goes by the moniker, FIFAfan, to imply his or her devotion to the sport. However, the fact that the tournament is known universally to football fans as the World Cup, not the FIFA Cup, failed to register in that person's brain.

The WC is over but football is a sport--the tournaments are just platforms and times when everyone gets excited. I enjoyed myself; the atmosphere was good like one month-long international party!

But back to your question, football is played during yearly seasons, national teams play a couple of times a year, club teams play at least a week. The Champions League every two years and of course the WC every four years. And then there are teams that play though no one is watching ie. Malaysia, Singapore and the like.

I hope that is what you were asking and also that this is a sufficient answer.

PS. The EPL is beginning soon/now/has already begun--that's one example of a club season. You can watch it if you want. It's broadcast on certain channels.

I am a fan of soccer (football) and even i admit that this World Cup was boring. It was filled with dozens of unnecessary penalty calls by the refs and it was also filled with record amounts of flopping and time wasting. So I look at it like this. Anything, including upcoming club league play will be more exciting that. That is why the world is still playing and watching. Exciting games that are filled with players actually trying to make an honest effort are in fact quite fun to watch and care about. Alot of the players in this World Cup looked just plain lazy. And out of shape i might add (Ronaldo, Beckham, etc.). There is simply no excuse to look and play like a chump before the world.

Ammm! Why shouldn’t we? No mater if the world cup is over it’ll still be the number one theme of the football world, now it’s the European cup, and after 4 years, we are going to South Africa for WC again… it’s just like you (Americans) love basketball so much you’re playing it 24/7 and that’s’ how Europe feels about Football…

actual , srilanka has each and every probability to win this international cup. the justifications are many- they seem to be a balanced team now, vaas and murali are at their top, jayasuriya ,in all probability enjoying his lat international cup is is in rip roaring type, kumara sangakara and jayawardena is consistent, the decrease order is unquestionably balanced. yet specially they might desire to be driving on very extreme morale after defeating NZ. if there is one team that could destroy their WC dream, and its no longer no longer common to wager that it relatively is the aussies! cos hayden, gilchrtist, pointing , symonds , clark are all on music now. the ausie bowling strenght is superberly stable. ... end- i think of sri lanka and australia are gonna be there in the finals. it relatively is going to likely be a no longer common conflict and whoever win, there aint gonna be a looser! (if u comprehend what i mean)

The World Cup is like a pendulum, therefore when you get hypnotized you get sucked in by a formidable force.

But you're free to go... Is there something wrong with us, pray tell?
