Unfortunatly you can't force anyone to do something they don't want to do. The only thing you can do that may help is to talk about your grandmother's health with your cousin, stressing how ill she is & that she ( your cousin ) may not have the chance to see grandmother alive much longer. Good luck & I'm sorry about grandmom.

Some people, perhaps your cousin, are afraid of death. They avoid dealing with a dying person because it hurts too much or they just are too afraid. Tell this cousin that someone will go with her to see your grandmother and talk to her about what she will see; what your grandma looks like, etc. Tell the cousin that her grandmother loves her and wants to see her before she passes on. Perhaps your cousin will have the strength to visit. If she doesn't visit, she will someday regret it. And even though grandma says not to contact the cousin if she passes, the cousin will and should find out. Grandma is in a scary place, too. I was with my mother holding her hand when she died. She went through moods of anger and regret, and then acceptance. Before she even actually stopped breathing, she came to a place of total forgiveness for others and reached a higher plane of understanding and peace. Your grandma will do so as well, hopefully, if she has faith, and hopefully the cousin will see her in this new place.

I would talk to your cousin there is possilby another reason that he or she doesn't want to be there. It could be that they are afraid of the man your grandmother is with it could be they are scared to say goodbye. I am very close with my grandparents and would be crushed if anything happened to them, I know if my grandma was in the same situation I would do everything I could to help....
Talk to your cousin and talk to you grandmother. Maybe you can have your family distract this man take him to dinner or something and your cousin can talk to your grandmother.
I am sorry also that she is doing so poorly healthwise.
I wish you and your family the best. It's a tough situation to be in and hopefully your family is a great support system.

im sorry to tell you this but if your cousin knows how bad off your grandmother is and she still wont go visit her then there is nothing that you or your family can do unless you tried talking to her and telling her that your grandmother has been asking about her and is very worried, maybe that will put some pressure on her to go and visit.

No matter how the rest of the family acts, you still stick by your grandmother. She really is going to need your love and understanding. And grant her, her request.
