Reasons for reading .... to learn about a new topic, for pleasure, to get better language skills, as a hobby, to become a better writer and speller, books don't crash or flash pop ups at you, a book can accompany you just about anywhere, if you read a book you like you can keep it forever, you can read a book outside on a nice day, there are millions of books available so there is lots of choice, books are relatively cheap, if you drop a book it doesn't break, etc. Reading is stimulating and enriching. It takes us into the world of others. If you can't afford an airline ticket, you can travel the world through books.
I hope this helps.
