Depends on what you'll be doing there.
*Anyone of any age can collect donations for them.
*16 with a parent and you may be able to do some minimal animal handling like walking dogs cleaning cages, or help in the office stuffing donation envelopes.
*18 and older to be able to work directly with animals unsupervised, because of the legalities of potential injuries.

"Our Volunteers are indispensable. Since 1993 they have made The Florida Humane Society a safe, clean & loving Haven for thousands of animals in need. By lending their time, energy & talents, they have made a difference by finding loving homes for cats & dogs that would otherwise be left to fend for themselves. Volunteering at The Florida Humane Society is one o f the most rewarding experiences one could experience.

If you are at least 18 years old & have a compassion for animals, you could make a difference in a cat or dogs life and feel the reward of their love in return. Won't you help us, help the animals? "

I think it varies on the shelter. Call them or visit the shelter and ask. I know it's mostly 16 - 18 unless an adult is with you. Way to go for helping a humane society!
