Your body has a natural cycle. Women will have short or long periods, their bodies will over time change the time of month they menstrate, things like that.

Anyway, all that to say, your body still tries to change itself from time to time, even though you are taking a synthetic hormone to control its cycles.

It also changes as it gets accustomed to the level of hormones in the pill youre taking.

Thats why the spotting is generally not an issue. So long as the hormone levels are high enough, and you're taking the pills correctly.

Your doctor would have told you before if there was a concern or problem.

It may just be that you're having irregular cycles... the pill after all is designed to trick your system into thinking it's pregnant. The spotting may occur at the time your cycle would commense if you were not on the pill. I've had the same thing happen to me and to my knowledge nothing was wrong.

Spotting is normal. I don't know how common it is, but it is normal. I wouldn't worry about it, especially if you've had the same thing happen before. You're going to the doctor, so if anything is wrong, they'll let you know. If nothing's wrong, then at least you'll know.
