The passenger rear door of my 95 jetta is unopenable. I am unsure how to proceed as far as getting it open at least once to be able to take the door apart and fix it. What should I do? the inner molding does not want to come off easily and I don't want to break it.

Get a can of penetrating oil with a plastic straw that fits in the spray nozzle. Slip the straw between the glass and door panel and aim it as best you can at the door mechanism. Spray for 4-5 seconds while you move the straw around. Do the same thing between the glass and the outside weatherstripping. Let it sit for a few hours and then repeat. Let sit over night. Some of the oil should get into the mechanism. If it's just stuck, this may get it to work again.

I had the same exact thing happen to my Audi, also a 1995. Both passenger side doors. I kept working at the lock knob over and over until it finally opened. I don't lock it now, just in case it happens again, and I had to order some new actuators. Hope that helps!
