Your best bet would be to talk to the neighbors of the house you want to buy and ask them how deep their wells are. Find out from the owner of the house how deep the current well is and then find a well digger and give them the approximate additional depth you'll need and ask them for an estimate. It will depend on what kind of soil they are digging through and how deep they have to go on how much it will cost. Expect it to run several thousand dollars at least.

Call a well driller in the area of new home and ask for estimate. They know the area and how deep the wells in the area are, and are usually very good at estimating.

Depends on where you are, how deep they have to go for water, access issues, if the well requires liner, if the well will be for potable water, if you have a pump or will be wanting them to install, and a few other issues.

of course that depends on where you are located. Up on a hill or down low? Plus it depends on how deep they have to drill. I just did mine, went down 30 feet, pump, tank, everything came to 1500.00 and that was a good deal.
