Hi,
I had my period on 8/9/06 and yesterday 8/16/06 we had sex without protection? Are there any chances of me getting pregnant? Has anyone become pregnant within 8 days or less instead of the usual 14 days for ovulating? How soon can one get the symptoms of pregnancy, for example within how many days of having sex can one conceive and get the symptoms? Please advice?

Many thanks

Well, it isn't that likely, but it is possible. I conceived my last child 5 days into my cycle-the doctor said that an egg dropped early. You really wouldn't be feeling any symptoms if you conceived a few days ago. Early symptoms include breast tenderness, a missed period and fatigue, although many people do not have these until they miss their periods. Good luck!

The "fact" of only getting pregant 14 day rule is BULLSHIT. Every females' body is different, and there is NO safe time, sorry to say. You will know by your next period. If you don't get it, Immeditately get a pregancy test from a drug store... no questions asked. Then, if you are pregnant, you NEED to see a dr.. becuz you need certain vitamins to make sure the baby is healthy, and you MUST not drink or smoke (if you d0). After having sex, if you get pregant, the conceiving starts THAT day! Symptoms can vary. You can feel sick within a week.. or 3 months in. For the LOVE of GOD.. if you are not pregnant do NOT rely on this "method" any more !!!!!!!!!!!!! Use condoms!!!! And that is still not 100% fail proof.....but your method is about 5% fail proof.

The usual 14 days to ovulation as you call it is only for women with regular 28 cycles, if yours is not like that then you can ovulate at any time! I did, my ovulation time varied from day 8-12 of my cycle so the chances that you get pregnant if you are irregular are 100% even if your cycle is regular you have lots of chances because remember that the sperms live inside of you for up to 6 days.

Yes you could be pregnant after three days of having sex. The only way you can tell if you are pregnant is if you had sex without protection and you miss a period then you should worryed.

You could have be ovulating but chances are u were not. Different women ovulate at different times. I would wait two or three weeks. Then u will start to get symptoms and then u can test. Good luck

If you don't know when you ovulated, you can take a pregnancy test 19 days (at the earliest) after having unprotected sex.

I have never ovulated that early, but every person is different.

With sperm living 5 days. Then your cycle would have to be exactly the 28 days for the average 14 day ovulation. I'd say you could be chancing it.

yes you can, everyone is different, you can get pregnant while your having your period and as for symptoms many women don't even have symptoms ... they even get their period ... so be careful and good luck (either way) -- oh and you can get pregnant up to 3 days after unprotected sex.
