Seeing the world through anothers eyes is called empathy, empathy and compassion are very similar. If people generally could learn to be more empathic then the world would be a better place. We can never know what it is like to be another person so I guess we should always try to see the world through the eyes of the person we are engaged with at the moment, how else could we really understand each other?

Autism is a condition in which the autistic individual cannot empathise, cannot even begin to understand that the other person has seperate feelings and thoughts. Sometimes it feels as if we are living in a predominantly autistic world!

You obviously do not have children. When you have a child, you see things differently. Butterflies become more noticeable when they see one for the first time and just stare at it. The sand and the ocean more jurassic and grand as they marvel at the smell and sound and feel of it. Toys and sounds and puppies....all these things. You may have seen fall leaves a million times but until a child picks it up and wonders at it for the first time, that is when you will really see it for what it is.

I think it's more like some things one can only see with another person's mind. I think it's just how each of us percieve our reality.

That may explain how an extremely skinny person could think themselves fat when everyone else sees them as being skinny.

We can gain any experience that we truly want in our lives. That said…there are some things that I only WANT to experience through other people’s eyes. Reading the Diary of Anne Frank is close enough to Nazi occupation for me. Listening to my grandfather talk about WWII, or my uncle talk about Vietnam is close enough to war for me.

Absolutely!!

Take my children for example. I see a box sat in a corner....... they see a spaceship or a car or a submarine.

Everyone has a different perception of things, that is what makes us individuals.
If we all opened our minds and saw things how others see them, we would have a better understanding of others and the world around us!!

Of course! In fact, I think that's true for most things. Each situation is unique and each person's experience and response to those situations are unique.

best to be the audience or the viewer than the participant, right? coz, it's difficult to choose but easier to prod when decisions are to be made. also, risk is involve and honor, dignity is at stake... therefore, one can only view his life from another one's eye... from the actor to the critic himself...
