Do not modify blood pressure medication without consulting a doctor. You may be taking the maximum and will need another drug added.

No for 2 reasons
If you have insurance and you are now taking more then the Dr ordered your prescription will run out sooner then normal. When you go to the pharmacy to get it refilled, your insurance won't pay for it
The second reason is your Dr should know what you are doing before you medicate yourself. I would check with him
If your Dr says it's okay ask him to phone in a new prescription to the pharmacy so your insurance will pay for it
Plus Atenolol is so small I don't really see how you can break it into 1/4

You should really talk to your doc before doing anything like that. He may perscribe something different, that would work better for you. This isn't the place to ask serious medical questions, baby. Very few are professional enough to be honest with you. Some are, but not many. Good luck.

Yes, absolutely. Tolerance is built up gradually, even to over the counter medications. However, please remember that with all things like tylenol, aspirin, IBprofen etc. - that they all have side effects, and the more of a medication you take, the greater the side effects.
