What can we do to attain the status of an intelligent being? We can stop resolving conflicts by hurling missiles at each other, bombing innocent people, torturing and killing those whose religious beliefs conflict with others, polluting the environment, sucking up all of our planet's natural resources at an alarming rate, bilking others out of money, engaging in dishonest business practices, and the list goes on. Our politics, world wide has sunken to levels of juvenile school-yard style bickering, and half the world is starving to death because it amuses their governments to let them die. We certainly have the potential as individuals to become intelligent, but as the human race as a whole, we need an overhaul.

Intelligence is a property of mind that encompasses many related mental abilities, such as the capacities to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language, and learn.
Although many regard the concept of intelligence as having a much broader scope, for example in cognitive science and computer science, in some schools of psychology, the study of intelligence generally regards this trait as distinct from creativity, personality, character, or wisdom.

...a very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience. It is not merely book learning, a narrow academic skill, or test-taking smarts. Rather, it reflects a broader and deeper capability for comprehending our surroundings—"catching on", "making sense" of things, or "figuring out" what to do. (reprinted in Intelligence Gottfredson, 1997, p. 13) [2
Intelligence is power of perception, comprehension, grasp the issues, analytical ability. Most important thing is to proper use of this God gifted ability. We should control our emotions, extra care in speech, reading good books, clear thinking and keep the company of intelligent people. I am not competent enough to write on the suject, any omission may please be condoned

"Hello Raphio! What can I do? The first event that establishes us as intelligent beings, is being born Homo Sapiens. Whether or not we end up in our maturity, as more intelligent beings, depends on combinations of factors we've come to know.
Secondly, after birth, we are cast unto an environment both frightening and compelling. Knowledge of our world revolves around thoughts and feelings. Slowly, we determine how to live. In my adolescense, I believe I learned the basic tenents enabling me to progress as an individual using both thoughts and feelings in decision-making processes. I simply cannot rely solely on feelings or soley on reason. This "equal integration" I learned, which has thankfully continued, allows me to evolve as a better human being. Of course, I experience fits of depression every 3 or 4 years, but, along with depression I feel elevated by the knowledge that I was afraid of giving up the security from my "old self" for a newer one. I'm not sure how I have continued to evolve except by this "equal integration" i.e. combinations of thoughs and feelings which enable me to experience "epiphanies" or revelatory manifestations---followed by pain of depression for short periods, as I discard my "old self" for a newer, more well-adjusted one.
How did I come to realize that I made "adjustments in intelligence" every 3 or 4 years? Please accept my use of the word "paradigm" which means (an example that serves as a pattern or a model). I have these "epiphanies" that toss me into a new "paradigm" of understanding. Some of my acquaintences took on a new appearance. Some were "stuck" in an outdated "paradigm" and appear to remain un-enlightened about some simple truths that I came upon from my "epiphanies."
In middle age I began to discover more knowledge about my relatives, friends and acquaintences. I came to realize that some were far ahead of me in understanding the world we live in. Some, were now far behind me. I don't use the last sentence to indicate I'm better than anyone else ... just the fact that I understand more reason than some old friends, etc. I have not treated old relatives, friends or aquaintances any differently; although we now see different realities. My understanding is beginning to exceed many of those around me, but, I feel no pride in it. It may seem to be a differentiation, but, it allows me to love more than I have in the past. Ever though I continue to evolve as an intelligent being, I find the only power I am resolved to use over others is anonymity. Those of you who find me repulsive will not know me in their hearts. Those of you, like me, who have evolved through "epiphonies" of understanding will forgive me.
I live in hope."

intelligence is all about being continuously aware and curious about all the things around us and beyond around us. the ability to think logically about any aspect taking all material and relevent facts , having an open and unbiased judgement is intelligence.
howevr to inculate such frame of mind just do 3 rhings:
1. dont allow any negative thoughts to come to mind. see them as they approach your mind and learn to instruct ur mind not to think them. think about something more pleasant.
2. continuously and nevr endingly improve ur self. always try to think of new and progressive things. u may be surprised to kno that a average person thinks more than 80% of the same thoughts that he thought the day bfore. so try to be more innovative in ur thinking.
3. always maintain the childish curiosity about ur surroundings. nevr take ne thing for granted. ask questions. remember hw u thought in ur childhood.
