If you love Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini is awesome! I love love love those books. The first two are called Eragon and Eldest, the last is not out yet, but will probably be called Empire. Also, Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer is very good. There are 4 almost 5. (5th comes out in September. Also, the Warriors series about cats is by Erin Hunter and there are about 11 of them and they are all very good. Check some out at you local library!

This is a difficult question, because there are so many really good books. But i think i will have to go with, for now, a book I read several years ago by the great american poet, w. s. merwyn called "the lost upland." I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind reading a non-action book as most of the action in the book takes place in the changing landscapes and in people's lives. But it has so much magic in it as do the poems by merwyn.

Winesburg, Ohio but Sherwood Anderson.
Its a book of vignettes (sp?) that all revolve around a central character. It takes place in a small Ohio town in the late 1800's. Great book for a lazy summer weekend.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is also a top book.
Both books are must reads.

King Fortis the Brave. It's about a pair of twins that are transported to a magical world where they are caught in the middle of a battle for control of the land. It has humor, action and adventure and is one of my favorite books!

"Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's childhood Pal", by Christopher Moore. It's a humourous look at what Jesus's best friend could have been like.
My favorite line?
"You're kidding. A sequel? Revelations 2, just when you thought it was safe to sin?"
