I'm starting to think that I'm retaining too much water and that something might be wrong! The hotter it gets outside the more water weight I take on. I've also noticed that I no longer sweat, either. It's horrible! It makes me feel like a sausage in my clothes. Sometimes my fingers and ankles even swell up and feel like they're going to pop. I take water pills to help but it doesn't cure the problem. Any theories?

I'm not a nurse or anything, but the feet and ankle swelling sounds very much like circulation problems. I have a circulation problem in my left leg and have had some veins removed, but it still swells up something awful. I have to make sure I get enough exercise every day and that I don't sit or stand too much. Also, try cutting back on your salt intake. I can definitely tell if I've had too much salt, because my hands swell up something awful. And also, do you drink enough water? If you're eating too much salt and not drinking enough water that could do it.

But definitely go see your doctor and get checked out, just to be sure.

I cant say I know what is wrong with you, but here is something that can help. Only drink water, pure water, not tap. And most important! Always add at least one drop or real lemon juice to your water. It will keep you from retaining the water, and flush it straight thru your system, plus its really good for you. See a doc about the rest, but for everyone, their whole life, that drop of lemon in water is a MUST

First off, you need to stop taking water pills. Analyze your diet and see if by chance you're sodium intake is too much. Usually water retention is caused by too much sodium and not enough exercise. It can also be one of the symptoms of PMS and stress. Now not sweating is highly unusual. If I were you I would talk to my doctor. I hope this helps a little.

You are dehydrated. You need to drink water in order not to retain it. Your body will do exactly what you are describing when you dont take enough water in because your body is holding on to whatever water it has.

Drink water!
