I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your car has suffered internal engine damage- hard to say specifically (it could be bearing, a blown head gasket or warped head, etc) but one thing is certain: You engine will need to be rebuilt if you plan to keep drving the car. Often it makes more financial sense to scrap the car and buy a new one, because prolonged period of overheating often sounds the death bell for engines whose value is less than the estimated cost or repair. Sorry for your misfortune, but at least you know the prognosis.

You could have blown a seal or gasket and got coolant on the cylinders. You will either have to pull the engine apart and rebuild the cylinders your self (but if you have the engine apart, you might as well rebuild the entire thing) take it to a mechanic where they will charge you out the *** for labor, or just run it until it dies and get a new car. But once the water pump goes and you get damage to the engine along with it, your pretty much screwed.

OK, not hard to say what's wrong with it. These folks are trying though. You have scored a cylinder wall, burned the side of the piston, melted the rings of that piston, and warped the head. They are correct about one thing. You will want to replace this engine. It's a lot more complicated to rebuild it as the damage is extensive. It will cost less to just get a remanufactured long block. Good luck.
