Betta fish dont give birth to live babies(she's probably full of eggs). They find a male betta, who makes a big bubblenest, then they spawn. The mom leaves, and dad takes care of the eggs for two, or three days untill they hatch. Then you feed them with microworms(get on internet), vinigar eel, baby brine shrimp, and microscopic organisms. (note:when babies hatch dad has to leave cuz he will want them to stay in the bubble nest). Frequent water changes are nessasary. Male bettas have long flowing tails and pretty, bright colors, females have shorter fins, and sometimes duller colors. (most pet stores sell mostly males)

Bettas don't get pregnant. Ever. The male literally squeezes the eggs out of the female, and fertilizers them. The eggs are then put in the male's bubblenest by the male. A healthy female always has eggs ready, and doesn't need to ever mate. A female ready for mating is not much larger than one who has mated. (A novice breeder often can't tell.)
If your betta is getting big and fat she is sick. Over feeding, constipation, and dropsy can cause swelling.

Call your local pet store for the best advice on this. I would think separating it from the other fish would be a good idea -- so that the other fish dont eat the young once they hatch.
As for the user above me, a Beta fish is a siamese fighting fish, as seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siamese_fighting_fish
Apparently, they will lay their eggs in a "bubble nest", as seen here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Bubblenestd.jpg

You will need to get its eggs out by introducing it to the male for breeding. I have posted my experience under the the other question "How do I breed my betta?". Just my little experience to share....

Just let it be. Don't want to scare it. Feed normally and make sure it has a place where it can lay its eggs quietly and safely.Best Wishes!
