How do I convince my mom to get a second and/or third piercing on my ears? (it's not like i want to get my nipples pierced or anything...but she's against it anyway)

yea, i get the whole unprofessional thing, but 2 holes in your ear won't necessarily dismiss you as a bad worker. I haven't done anything to make her frown upon me: I get straight A's in school while playing sports, do my chores, even do all the laundry. What's another ear piercing?

I think a second piercing on the ears is fine. It won't infringe on you getting a job (sheesh people!). I have a second piercing in both my ears, PLUS I have a nose ring and I got a job working in a prestigious office. It's just the way I wear it though. For my second piercings, I wear just a small silver stud and for my original piercing I have hoops. I've known tons of chicks your age who have a second piercing in their ears. I think the best way to convince your mom is by telling her that you'll still look classy and decent with having a second piercing, and by showing her that you will be.

Will this really matter to you a year from now? Most times Mom's are not trying to be mean, they do have your best interests at heart, back up with some pretty powerful experience in the real world. I didn't get my ear's pierced until I turned 21! Well that was a long time ago, but the point is I waited, it didn't kill me and I made the decision based on being an adult and having the choice. I could understand why she might want you to wait a bit. Give her a hug and let it go for awhile.

do what I did, I had my ears pierced twice on each side and I had a friend pierce my ears the 3rd time sure my father flipped out but that was when I was 17 and I'm 20 now but I just tell her you'll sacrfice something to get them done again!

why do you want piercings I got them to when I was about your age and now I dont even use them because when you get older you have to look professional.
If you want them real bad what I did was kept asking and my mom did my 2nd hole's and my sister who is 31 now did my very top and wal-mart did my 1st thats all I have but I only use my 1st hole's every once ina while.

Tell her it's much easier to do it now, while your metabolism and recuperative powers are at their peak, rather than waiting until you're 18 and on your own.

Explain to her that you're aware of the negative reprecussions, such as being passed over at job interviews, and such, but you're willing to forego all of that to achieve what you believe is fashionable.

Get your nipples pierced... It's a clear road ahead after that...

depending on who you already are and sutff, do something that will totally make your mom proud and earn her trust. or you could have someone your mom looks up to tell her to let you peirce your ears. worked with me and i hope it works for you! good luck!!!

your mother is wise. it may make you look cool now (or make you think you look cool), but try to go on job interviews later with scarred up ears....

it's going out of style anyway
