Dogs do not sense cancer, however there sense of smell is far greater than ours and they do have a keen interest in things that smell bad so if you did have cancer then a dog would probably be inclined to sniff that area as and other areas due to cancer being akin to rotting flesh.

Possibly, by smelling certain metabolites of drugs used in chemotherapy. But I am inclined to think that what they sense is the depressed feelings of some patients aflicted with cancer. It would be incredibly irresponsible to use a dog to "diagnose" cancer.

Yes! It is not that they can sense it, they can smell it. They have completed numerous tests with 100% pass rates.
Humans can actually smell cancer though in its far more advanced stages than dogs are able to.
