It's not that bad, but you do have to be careful. I drove in Ireland, and once I DID turn the wrong way down a street. Also, in New Jersey I was always used to really BIG traffic circles, so big they had TREES in the middle of them. In Ireland, some of them (roundabouts) are just a bit of raised pavement - I drove STRAIGHT THRU one once. I didn't even notice, except for a slight bump. When I realized it, I said "OOOPSY..." Good thing there wasn't a lot of traffic at the time.

So just be careful. The worst thing about Ireland was that the roads are REALLY narrow. Everyone's cars there are all scratched up on on side because they always have to drive off into brush and stuff to avoid buses and trucks. I understand England is the same way.

Love, Jack.

I imagine it would take some time to adjust, but not too difficult to do so. However, the UK was rated as the most dangerous country to drive in according to the International Road Traffic and Accident survey. If their drivers are worse than the Italians (I've been to Italy--they're crazy, but fun to watch!), I'd rather just stay in the States, or hitch a cab in the UK.

I went to Australia, and at first, turning onto two lane streets was rough... but you learn very quick.

Stick-shifts are also very weird, it's all weird for the first 20 minutes, but i'll tell you what got me more than any driving, was crossing the street on foot... i always looked the wrong way, i got hit, slowly, by a tram-car in melbourne that way...

Yes it is. It took me awhile to learn to stay on my side of the
road. I kept fighting the urge to drive on the American side.
