Yup. Screw originality. They can make money off the kids who haven't seen all the same stuff already. Remember, it's all about money in Hollywood.

I have the same problem with a lot of the "new" music - it's all just remakes of stuff that was in the top 40 when I was a kid (and some is even older than that). I mean, can't they come up with an original idea??

Of course, the clothing styles are the same way. It's getting so I HATE to get rid of anything, because I know it will be "in" again in the next 10 years and I'll just have to buy the same thing again.

I'm not sure whether I'd like to see remakes or new stuff, because all the new stuff sucks. I'm sure people think that "everything's been done", but people always say that. Good movie ideas will come about if Hollywood lays off trying to indoctrinate people with politics, and starts making movies that can actually be entertaining. Or they could do both, but it MUST be entertaining. Hollywood has just turned into a big mess of backstabbers and over-pretentious people who think of themselves as experts and have grown to calling their sub-par work artistry. Ask my cousin, she lives and works there. I don't think Hollywood has run out of good ideas, just talent.

Yes, I hate it too. I think that some movies you just shouldn't mess with especially classics or cult favorites. All these remakes are just to make a quick buck, there a TONS of new up and coming film directors that have very good ideas, but they are not big so they don't the chance. This is why I support indie films, where the great minds can shine, even if they are low-budget.

All the studios are owned by corporations now and run by non-movie people. They are afraid to take a chance on unknown material. Thats why you are seeing so many remakes.

I think they are remaking movies to appeal to the new generations. If the movies/shows were a hit the first time around, they think if they revamp them, they can be a hit again. But I have to agree with you, I am tired of seeing the rmakes.

No one has any imagination any more. Also true for the music being made. People don"t seem to want to think because they are so busy trying to get their stuff out before the next guy. That is why I read.

Hey, old fogey! You're right! Hollywood IS running out of ideas! That's one of the reasons I like Science Fiction -- always new ideas out there.

sometimes the movie isnt in good quality and it mite be a realli good one, and producers think that theyd make more money if ppl want to see a better version of say their favorite movie, or your other scenario could be rite, but i doubt it cuz they always have tons of ideas they just never get made, but i agree somewhat

Not running out, ran out. I heard that there is only 7 main plots, like boy meets girls loses girl gets girl back, etc. All they do is put little twists in them.
