You can delete the history of search bar on ur homepage (whatever it is either Yahoo! or Google) by following this path. Tools> internet options> content> auto complete> clear forms. To stop the generation of history uncheck the box of forms.
You can delete the search history on ur yahoo toolbar this way. click the arrow in the search box. Select options, click clear history. Follow this path also. Pencil> toolbar options> uncheck the boxes of enable auto complete and enable history> ok.
To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok.

Ahh, I had this problem once.
It's a simple fix.
In IE, proceed to "Tools" in the menu bar. Select "Internet Options" > "Content" tab. In the Personal Information section, hit the "AutoComplete" button. Uncheck the boxes listed, and hit the "Clear Forms" buttons.
If you are using Firefox, follow a similar set of steps to remove this function.

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.

In the Google search box, you'll see an arrow, click on it, and a drop down box will open, go to the bottom where it says "view history" click it and it will show you where you've been at the bottom of the drop down box, it says "clear history" click on it and POOF your history is gone.
