Ok, here's what i've gleaned so far.
when we move we "vibrate" in a dimension. left to right is one dimensional vibration, up/down is a second, front and back is a third and time is the 4th dimension as we are always moving in time. Thats simple enough. However, on a subatomic level there are particles which are "vibrating" on seven unknown levels which we see but cannot predict or make sense of. These make up different dimensions. So, much the same way a pond skater on the surface of water can only see 3 dimenionally (side to side, left and right and in time) it hasn't a clue about the up-down.
A 2 dimensional creature would only see our 3 dimansional forms as a sliver of the dimension they inhabit. So, its possible entire universes are folded into these other dimensions unobservable to our feeble investigations. These are called multiverse.

Quantum physics can be applied in a more practical way through your dream world and imagination. It can serve as a leaping off point for further exploration and ideas. If we can think it; then it can become reality...even if it isn't within our life-time. The material world often reflects this in action. Many older science fiction novels became prophetic in nature. All things begin with a dream. This can often lead to a concept of multiple universes and dimensions. Our minds are limitless. Faith is founded on things we cannot see...but are valid none-the-less.

This idea sprouted from particle physics.
Scientists found evidence of a split particle taking three different paths at what appeared to be the same time.
Take that a step further and you start wondering if that means that any path we take has a concurrent/alternate brother path tjat we are unaware of in these dimension that are visible to us.
To tell you the truth, there are many things that are found in particle physics that do not directly effect us at our perspective.
they simply are meaningless to us.

Watch any episode of Star Trek and you'll learrn a lot about it.
Also, any pre-Crisis DC comic book had the concept of
multiple Earths. Good stuff.

Because when scientists observe electrons they can see the same electron taking multiple pathways, leading many to beleve that what they are witnessing is the same electron diverging into multiple realitys. The macro reality that we see is organized and whatnot but on the subatomic scale everything is chaotic and crazy.

Nostradamus has knowledge for prophecy, for his quantum physics, prophetic quatrains, skepticism, predicted the terrorist, and hoaxes and misquotes. Makes you wonder how people like Nostradamus could really foresee the future.

My suggestion is to read or watch episodes of Star Trek.
Soothsayers say that it is based on true events. Including World War III that started in 1993 and killed several million people!!!
Do you feel dead yet? =D
