I belive they were a Camero and a Charger (dodges car of that era look a lot alike it could also have been a barracuda or challenger).

Yenko Camaro 427 ci and a 440 Cuda I believe. Might have been a Challeger, I can't remember. I haven't seen the movie in a while.
