I think that the families views on the marriage has nothing to do with how the man feels about his partner. When you find the person you are in love with, meant to be with, then it's okay to be selfish in love. If they are happy with one another and want to spend the rests of their lives together...her family should not be against it. Don't they want their daughter to be happy? Families that do this are selfish in my humble opinion.

Love will stand many test in time.If a person is willing to marry someone against the wishes of their family,it just shows how strong the love actually is.If two people love one another-nothing should stand between it.So i say yes,it is a sign of love!

It is love no doubt about it however to understand her parents reasons for objection and trying to overcome them and convincing them for marriage is the truest proof of undying love.
By doing this you not only show that you love her and want to be with her but also that you care for her feelings towards her parents and respect her as an individual.
Respect and understanding are the foundations of marriage apart from love.
Best of luck

a question of what love really is... it's real meaning, it's definition. a you and me against the world scenario.
love encompasses all. you chose your mate/beau because there's something in him/her that you see and other people can't. there's a strange bond develop that you want to continue to nurture, to care, to carry on inspite of objections from others. the point is, are you courageous enough to tread the angry waves engulfing you, drowning you? if you want to survive, you fight back, right?
doesn't matter what other people think. if you love her deep enough, strong enough... than let love guide your course, let it steer your way. don't mind the obstacles, it's your choice... don't let the obstacles ruin your life forever....
best of luck and live love, my friend....

No. That's a decision. Wanting to do something against someone's wishes is a decision. lol
I don't see where love comes into the picture in the first place. And this question in philosophy? *faints*

if it's right then do it, that would be love forsure! Sometimes people think they know what is best for you. But of course they are not with you or inside your head so most the time they are judging on very little evidence.

I think it is love. I am sure my fiance thinks the same about my family. when you love some one the way God has intended then it will not matter what any one thinks. Good luck to you both.
