who thinks that girl heart rates are high and the boy heart rates are lower when your preg or do you think its an old wives tale?

My OB said it was an old wives tale, but my daughter always had a fast hearbeat (around 160), and my best friends baby has a slower one (around 140) and she's having a boy.

I don't because when my mum was expecting my brother (back in 1978) they told her it was a girl from the heartbeat speed! We were going to call him Hannah! What a shock when he turned out to be a boy!
He's now 28 and 6 ft tall and we still love pulling his leg about this!
I'm 24 weeks pregnant and I know I'm having a boy but thats because we saw the "boys bits" on the ultrasound scan!!! I'm not sure what my baby's heartbeat speed is. When they listened to it a few weeks about it was 126 BPM I think. I will ask next time they listen to it though, just out of curiosity.
But I think the heartbeat speed thing is mostly an old wives' tale.

I am pregnant with a baby girl 153 beats per minute..
they say that a girls beats 140+
and a boys beats less than 140..
just an old wive's tale, but it is true in my case!

My ob/gyn thought it was an old wives' tale, and I believe him. My daughter and son both were around 140 all through the pregnancy. My daughter's heart rate didn't go up until right at delivery, and my son's didn't drop until delivery. So, it's fun to think about, but if I were you, I wouldn't paint my nursery based on the heart beats! ;)

my obgyn nurse commented on my babys heart beat being lower and I had a boy. Some say it's an old wives tale but I think it it really works.

Its a wives tale. I don't believe it. I think if the heartbeat is 150 or more its a girl, lower its a boy. BUT the closer you get to labor the slower the heartbeat is.

I am pregnant now and just found out it is a boy...the heartbeat has been in the 150-160 range the whole time. That is high so I don't believe it. Also the Chinese lunar calender was wrong for me too.

Nope I had 3 boys and there heart beats where all supposed to be what ever number a girls is.....yeah no girls there...don't believe it. Although I will have to say the chinese chart has been true for me and many friends of mine.

Don't they say over 150 is a girl and u nder is a boy? My daughter (i am 38 weeks) has been consistently in the 140's the whole time. So no, I don't believe in it.

My son's heartbeat became into continuously in the one hundred sixty's till this 9th month and it has come right down to one hundred forty's. Its purely a delusion, yet howdy you have a 50/50% probability of being good! stable luck!
