My bed feels hot and uncomfortable at night when I need to go to sleep, but so warm and cozy in the morning when I need to get up. Any one know how to reverse this?

It sounds like you need a NEW mattress, and a running fan to circulate the air in your room. Weather permitting, you should open your window for some fresh air. Waking up groggy is a sign that you are not getting enough oxygen.

I've tried all kinds of things. I have absolutely no idea what it is like to be refreshed and alert when you wake up. I can stay up all night then crash all day-and still not enough sleep. I keep waking up all night long, tossing and turning.
And yes, I have air conditioning.
But I can't explain why I can take a nap in the afternoon on a weekend and fall asleep right away and sleep for 2-3 hours.

The reason why it is hard for you to get up in the morning is because you didn't get much sleep due to the fact that you couldn't get to sleep the night before. Yes, I know I am being sarcastic, sorry. I really don't know much on sleep, but your question is very ironic. I agree with you, I hate getting up in the morning (school just makes it worse). Hope you find an answer that helps you (and isn't sarcastic).

If you have difficulty getting up from bed, you have to consider several things. Main thing is your sleeing. You have to solve your sleeping prob. first. Meditate and do yoga exercises. These will help you fight stress and gives you a practical and experiential philosophy to live by. Then try to sleep early so that you can wake up early close to the routine of animals and birds.
Another thing, you have to check what you eat, drink and ingest and the time you take them. For example, there are foods and drinks that needs to be avoided at suppertime like carbohydrates (rice, bread, potatoes, caffeine, etc.)

Start working out, i know it sounds crazy but I started and after exhausting all my energy for the day, I fall asleep easier. Waking has gotten better, but its still hard. I do have more energy though throughout the day.

P.S.
dont do what friskygimp said. They will give you drugs to sleep. Drugs aren't always the answer.

I would talk with a sleep specialist it could be any number of reasons why you arent sleeping well.

stress, sleep apnea, sleep walking, some other medical ailment...

I would try to put a fan in your room so you can be more comfortable going to sleep, in the morning, put your alarm clock across the room so you have to get up to turn it off.

good luck!
