It is about the size of a golfball.this is the second time I have had it.it is very painful.what is it,and what can I do about it?last time I had it [two months ago] it was about the size of a dime.

You definitely need to see your doctor. Could be serious.

Could be a cyst. I get them periodically. Especially there, because the beltline causes pressure on the hair. It sounds like you may have to get it drained.
In the meantime put hot packs on it. It will drain a little--relieve the pain a little.

Maybe a hernia?? Definitely sounds like you need to have it checked out.
