Had this dream last night. It was rather disturbing. Searches of the dream interpretation guides out there all talk about seeing ghosts, but not being one. Any ideas? (I spent my time in the dream trying to interact with the living world unsuccessfully).

There may be more to the dream than I have told you but I do not remember it clearly. I was grinding my teeth pretty hard though and it did wake me up.

I am under alot of stress. I am moving and my job is pretty stressful and my job security has been shaken in recent days.

You probably know the answer... stress.. However

death, ghost = give up.

In one sense, you are giving up hope subconsciously. Projecting yourself as ghost basically you are telling yourself to give up some hope. Since you are jumping jobs to jobs. You are stressed now, and many time you may give up something to gain something. That give up part played major part in your dream. You may be afraid to face the reality, being a ghost or death may be an escape to your subconsciously.

To dream of death is a reasonable fact as we all shall die. To dream of becoming a ghost is related to your beliefs based on your religion. You might believe that there's a soul or an afterlife. That death is not the terminable end.
Some say to dream of your death, means an an early demise for you. Others say it's a sign of longevity.

For whatever reasons, this out of body experience has been properly documented. You hear stories of people seeing this tunnel and bright lights at the end of the tunnel, while they are free floating. Meanwhile his earthly body is being worked on to resuscitate life. And when they are turned back as it's not their time, yet, they re-enter their body and become alive again.

By you unsuccessfully trying to interact with the living world, you can not do so in that state of a ghost. Being a ghost you already went to the other dimension.............. that of the dead. owever a lot of charlatans have claimed that they were able to communicate with the dead.
Mario Caruso, dead from his failed attempt to escape from an aquarium was able to tell his
mom......i believe..... per their agreement.

Or it could be the fact that you're not really dead just in a state of suspended animation, That's why you can not communicate with the living world because you're still very much a part of it. I hope this gives you a lot of points to ponder. I have had the same experience.

When you are having a bad time, it goes into your thoughts. At night, it goes into your dreams.

It is the 7th Lunar Month right now, which is the Ghost month for the chinese. The gates of hell opens to let them tour the human realm for 1 month before going back so it is considered more 'dirty' now. Chinese people would probably not stay out late and there would be more funerals conducted. I think you may be bothered by some spirits as you are weak and tired from work and therefore, vulnerable. Take good food, have enough rest and don't think too much. The 7th month is ending in a few days and all will be fine.

Btw, my colleague did and abortion some years back. every 7th month she would be plauge by this event and be on sick leave most of the time. Otherwise, she's fit as a fiddle

I suspect there's more to this dream than you've told us. I wonder if there weren't specific people in the dream beside you. In any case, dying in a dream can mean many different things, and when teamed up with becoming a ghost points to something much more specific. I have a hunch that you're letting go of a situation whereby you so much wanted to stick around, but that letting go was the only solution. Becoming a ghost is probably a way of still be there, but not interfering or involving yourself further in the situation you have let go of.

Dreams are nothing but uncontrlled emotional outlet to your day to day life. They certainly reflect your state of mind. I do not know anything about the interpretation of the dreams but I certainly feel that as you are rightfully said you have been strssed out a lot in recent times. It may be because of your insecure feelings of your daily life. Dream only vented out those feelings and possibly trying to find some escape route which you do not find.

Oh, my goodness! It's good that your wandering soul was able to return. Or else, you will die. Do not lie down with your back as you go to sleep. It’s very easy for your soul to leave you. And once you change your position while your soul's still roaming around, the soul cannot return anymore.
Don't ever tire yourself if that's what will happen next. Try to find a minute or two to relax. Well, the best way to relax is to think positive. Think of your happiest moment in life.

Your dream is probably telling you what will happen. You had a dream you'll die and become a ghost trying to interact with the living world unsuccessfully, and that is probably what will happen.

I'll give you a few things to go by and hopefully you'll be able to decipher it. It is easier to help somebody out when you know what's going on in their life. Look at what is going on in your life and go from there.
Usually, dreams involving death are not literal warnings of impending physical death. Death in a dream is a symbol...it refers to your psychological state. Take a look at your life...have you had any stress? Are certain things going on in your life that are bothering you...past, present or future? Are you worried about something?
Well...I know it is not much to go on but I hope it helps.

Nothing, intrinsically. Dreams have no inherent menaing, and acquire meaning only through the process of introspection.
