do you mean 3 times 8 plus 4 or by x do you mean there is a variable? If you ment is as though it were multiplied and no variable were there the answer would be 28 however if you ment it as though the question were
3x+8+4=0 meaning there was a variable then here is how youd solve it
3x8+4=0 (You add together 8 & 4 like terms)
3x+12=0
-12=-12 (minus 12 from both sides you want
x alone)
3x=-12
3/= /3 (the opposite of multiply is devide and
X= -4 (X alone so youd devide -12 by 3 athat would get you your answer X=-4)
