You are thinking of Casa Grande, NM. The desert is the Sonoran Desert. This only applies if you are trying to complete the Marlboro Road To A Million Contest.

I'm still wondering how Casa Grande got from Arizone and into New Mexico.

I answered Mojave but I think the answer giving the Chihuaian Desert is correct... At least it sounds about right.
