If you have the funds, hire a professional. -- Like me.

If you are on a tight budget and are computer savy follow this plan:

Buy a domain name at Godaddy. Don't buy anything else there. If you spend more than 10 bucks, you bought something you shouldn't, no matter what they tell you.

Buy a web hosting account. OK, maybe it is OK to get the hosting account at GoDaddy, but there are other options, that may be better in the long run.

Get a free (webstandard compliant, CSS) template from a place like http://www.oswd.org. Don't buy those things you find on the interenet for 70 bucks.

Get a free WYSIWIG Editor (or learn XHTML and CSS) and make your pages.

Your webhost can tell you how to upload.

You will NOT have anything active like webforms or live content unless you can do programming on a server. If you need such, hire a professional.
