The team that gets the best player in a trade is the one that wins the trade. Roberto Luongo is a budding star. Todd Bertuzzi is a struggling star. I think Vancouver clearly won this trade.

Flyers fan here. I'm not so sold on the idea of Luongo. I think the Canucks are poised to win the cup, but that move has me wondering what they see in him. He certainly is a capable goalie, but they could have gotten a better one. I put him in the middle echelon of goalies along with Robert Esche. If Vancouver-or the Flyers- had a Martin Brodeur then I'd be placing bets. A lot depends on the defense too, it certainly will be an interesting year. You could look back on several of my answers to prove this, but I have stated here before that I think the Canucks are the surprise team for the upcoming season. Happy Hockey to you.

I think the Luongo - Bertuzzi deal will help both teams. Luongo will or should see some playoff Hockey and get a chance to show what he really has and Bertuzzi will not have to see Colorado 9 times a year and have the Moore reminder staring him in the face every second.

The Canucks have had a good offense, but awful goaltending for a lot of years now. Losing Bertuzzi hurts the offense a little, but getting Luongo gives them the best goaltender in the league right now in my opinion. I definitey think they will be better off next year and make the playoffs. I doubt they will be serious contenders for the Cup though.

the Canucks are going to be 10 times better with Luongo in net. Bertuzzi needed a new team to go play with, Dan Cloutier was terrible his entire career in Vancouver, I'm surprised that he still kept getting chance after chances to be number one for so long and never won anything and really sucked in the playoffs with a 3.21 GAA in playoffs and they still kept him that was the worst thing the Canucks has done in years.

Vancouver should do better this year...Luongo is a great acquisition, and so is re-signing the Sedin brothers. Good on them to move Bertuzzi out of town.....good player but too much baggage. I see them finishing strong in the West, probably winning their division.

Luongo is overrated. If he really was that good a goalie, Florida would have made the playoffs at least once during his career. Because a good goalie can carry a whole team into the playoffs.

Sadley only time will tell, give it about 3 months into the season and see if the team can group well, they have a good golie now,not that Auld sucked Luongo overall is better. If he stays healthy anything is possible.

I'm not sure I agree with you, have you seen Roberto Luongo's career stats? He's not even a .500 career goaltender, but maybe a change of scenery will help him. I'm not sure I would have gave up on Bertuzzi.

They did the best they could. The Sedin sisters might break out and prove they were worth it.. Need a Canadian Captain to lead them...Luongo deserves a break
