Where are you in life? Lots of free time would be important if you have a family or other obligations .. designing could be a strategic career move that might grow into something fabulous. So think about your priorities and write them down it will become very obvious after you look at all the pros and cons.. good luck ...

Do what you love!! If you do 1 you can do that for a while get a nice house and buy nice stuff, then do the designing job. If you do the designing job you would probably do that for a long time and make enough to get threw life and plus you'll love going to work everyday! good luck!

Is it possible for you to take job number one while continuing to prepare yourself for doing job number two? If you truly love the second field, then I think you should make every effort to enter it full-time. However, if the current job offer is not enough to support you, then you should take the first job, and use "lots of free time" to continue pursuing opportunities in the field of design.

Do Job 2 if you can survive. Do what you love doing...make sacrifices if you must. What's the point in making money if you absolutely hate going to your job and spend all your time dreading it? Of course, you have to live, so take Job 1 if you need to for the money.

my opinion (since i work 30 minutes from home as well) is to take the 1st one.. the commute is probably the hardest part of my job.. it takes a toll on you (and your car) after a few years

i wish i was able to work a couple of blocks from home.. plus like the others said.. with the free time.. you can always do designing on the side

Take the higher paying job and use your free time to do what you love. Then when you have money saved, switch into the designing field.

I say take the first job....You can make more money and save money back. Plus with your free time you can work on your designs yourself, with the extra money you have made.

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

Job #2- Always do what you love. Happiness is more important than money. Plus money will follow because when you do something you love - you will do it better.
