This is the message AVG comes up with when it finds some code that looks suspect, but doesn't have an identifiable signature. Try running the free virus scan on http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/global/enterprise.htm
If it comes up with the same message, your friend may need to invest in a better antivirus product. If Trend does not identify it, it's probably a false alarm. (So what do you expect for free?)

Havent heard of that one in particular.
Try using a number of different virus spyware & malware scanners
there should be a few decent free \ trial ones.
If you can find the file manually then delete it that way
Also try searching the registry for the name of the infected file
(only if you know what you're doing)
Possibly try repairing windows with the original installation disc (if you have it)
If you can find the name of the infected file do a general internet search i.e. "system.exe Trojan Horse Generic.zvx" and see what other people say
Don't suppose you keep a backup?, who does.

I had a trojan horse ages ago and nothing seemed to deal with it. I found a free download (30 day trial) on the 'net and I think it was called Trojan Hunter (Google it). It found that little devil and got rid of it straight away. But tell your friend to keep AVG updated every day to reduce the chances of them getting in there in the first place. Good luck!

Hi. If you have Win XP, then i would advise downloading Avast Anti Virus, installing it and allowing it to do a low level scan of your hard drive. You will be surprised at what it will find and clean. O. Its also free. .... And i run it instead of AVG. I find it is better. Give it a go. It will cost you nothing but a small amount of time. Good luck.

All you have to do is, tell your friend to take a note of where AVG tells him the virus is, restart the pc in safe mode, go to the directory of the virus, manually delete it, then restart in normal mode and run a registry cleaner,
that should do it, no need to install further programmes,
