Since there are thousands of hundreds of questions, everytime someone asks a question., Yahoo! servers automatically create an ID for each page question :)

when you see those numbers/letters it is used for making dynamic web pages.

The numbers are a search string.

For example (google URL broken down)...
http://www.google.co.uk/search?
hl=en&
safe=off&
q=yahoo%2Bsearch&btnG=Search&meta=&
n=100&
start=201

language is English
safe mode is off
query is "yahoo search"
number of results per page is 100
starting number is 201

You can look at many database 'calls' and sometimes work out what the search is doing.

File/page identifiers.

Files/pages etc can be named using any alphanumeric (letter or number) characters.
