I had cramps and pains around 6 weeks and so on and i'm in my first pregnancy. It was normal for me my OB said. So I assume so, but if it's bad or your concerned call your OB even though your appointment isn't until then and ask the nurse to ask the OB or something and let you know.

Sometimes the baby attaching can cause cramping. I just had a baby 4 months ago and I had some cramping sometimes bad the whole first trimester. I like to call it growing pains. Especially if it is your first your body is filling with blood and a person is growing inside you! As long as you do not have any spotting and the cramps are not severe you should be fine but I would go see a doctor if you are worried!

I had cramping from about two weeks before my period was due and it continued throughout the first trimester. I also had some really nasty stomach pains (like I'd eaten something bad) and lots of trapped wind etc which was pretty uncomfortable!
The doctor and midwife assured me this is all quite normal. Its just your uterus growing and expanding and the ligaments being strained.
I'm 24 weeks along now and still get the odd crampy twinge here and there. My midwife said the only time you need to worry is if you get SEVERE cramps accompanied by bleeding (get straight to hosital if this happens). Otherwise its perfectly normal.

Slight cramping around the time that you would have your period during the first trimester is normal. If you end up getting brown spotting, this is also normal.
Severe cramping, bright red bleeding, and blood clots are a sign of miscarriage.

Severe cramping is not normal. If u have light pain in ur stomach but very light not even pain--its just cuz ur uterus is growing!!! I had that for a couple of weeks--but it was not cramping and if u have any type of bleeding u need to consult ur dr. or go to the emergency room.
good luck!

I have had 3 children, and had the same pains as you. Don't be too alarmed unless you start bleeding. You body is going through new changes. You may continue to have a period while you are pregnant too. If you think you are miscarrying, go to the emergency room with your concerns and they can test your blood to see if in fact you are or not. There are certain levels in your blood, I think it is HCG (?) , that they test, the more you are pregnant, the more it goes up. I would go to the ER myself, it may cost more, but then you can ease your mind.

It is normal to have light cramping and pain on the side. It is your muscles and tendons stretching out. As long as there is no bleeding or strong cramps then you should be okay.

Call your ob/gyn and talk to her. She's the only one who can accurately answer that question. There's no point in worrying when you can potentially solve your problem with one phone call. Call now!
