Did this start happening after you connected any device? Usually this thing can happen when Windows cant start a certain hardware driver. If you have recently plugged in any new device , just unplug it and try to start.
Another alternative is to go in Safe Mode and uninstall any new software you might have added. You can go in safe mode by pressing F8 key when your system is booting.
For any more detailed help feel free to message me.

My computer did that the other day...It was because I had Avast and Zone Alarm installed at the same time. Try hitting the enter key when it gets frozen on that screen. And I would suggest getting a good Anti virus program.

a sprint trick on the bios, in case you may desire to make adjustments to the bios to work out what's going to happens take a image of the monitors with a digicam first so which you will get lower back to the place you have been earlier you began.

can you boot in safe mode by hitting f8 during the boot process?
if so, you may just have some corrupted files/drivers/etc.
you can also try booting from a windows cd and repairing you're installation.

where are u asking this ? It might have a virus, mine got 1 and went downhill rapidly, to the point where it crashed as soon as i swithed it on. Luckily a member of my family builds computers and fixed it. not sure how he did it, u might need to get a pro in.

Sounds like you either have a bad motherboard or memory chip - it's definitely hardware. Both are fairly inexpensive to replace, but don't try to do it yourself - get someone else to do it.

try reinstalling your windows.
if this doesnt help.. try swapping a hard drive. Had the same problem, turns out that my hard drive is dying.
