You give up one right ( illegal wiretapping) and it just leads to more and more and more.

or dont they care. what it looks like to me is that the fear campaign has worked. it has emboldened people to think they have a hand in the nations security.. all they have to do to help is give up a little here or there...and in the process it plays on thier patriotism to make them feel better smarter and more worthy to be american than those that question the motives ... and everything else

There's a lot that can blind people unfortunately. I think unquestioning partisanship is fast becoming a problem on the current political landscape. I'm all for a little party loyalty but when we have to start bending the truth to make the pieces fit there is a problem. We should all be big enough to admit when our party is screwing up but I don't see it happening, not on this issue anyway. And let's not forget fear. Some people are so afraid of a terrorist attack they are willing to give up all their rights to prevent one and they assume that everyone else should go along with that too. And no, they don't see where you are coming from, if they have been told that illegal, warrantless wiretaps are the only way to keep us safe than by-god that's what we should do and the rest of us should just keep our mouths shut. Some people believe that we should do what authorities tell us without question whether it's the president, their dad or that Bill O'Reilly on the TV and nothing you can say will change their minds. The truth is, the NSA will still be able to get wiretaps on people of interest all they have to do is get a warrant which is really, not very much to ask. In fact, they can still observe people for up to thirty days before getting that warrant. And let's not forget patriotism, some people will go along with anything if you call them a chicken. This ruling won't make us anymore or less safe but I'm sure you will here plenty of party blind loyalists or the truly fearful saying that these wiretaps helped prevent this, that or the other thing. Look at Britain, they found and prevented a plot without using illegal, warantless wiretaps and what, our intelligence and police agencies can't to that? Nonsense.

Not sure if they do or not but we are certainly on a slippery slope.
Seems to me they are all too willing to give a free ride to this administration. I'm sure they would be jumping up and down if a "D" were in office.
Nobody is saying don't wiretap, but it should not be a free-for-all. There are reaons for judicial review (even the secret FISA one) for these things. Its a cop-out. These jokers in the administration don't want any transparency or accountability.

We've already given up more rights, liberties, freedoms, and abilities to pursue happiness under Bush than most banana republics give up.
Just one example proves me right:
Could any other president in American history get by with saying, about the American Constitution?, "It's just a god*amned piece of paper."
If Bill Clinton had ever said such a thing, what would all these so-called "patriots" be saying, and how many hundreds of years later would we still be hearing about it?
'Nuff said.

All I know is that the LEGAL wiretapping has been working. I, for one, prefer safety over terrorists blowing us up over the Atlantic Ocean spilling our guts into the sea...

It gets rather tiring listening to each and all of the liberal carrying on approximately Obamacare. Liberals dont care what shape the economic equipment gets into. They dont rather care approximately human beings having coverage they only care approximately their radiculous ideology. Obamacare is going to finally end up hurting human beings and in basic terms positioned money into the hands of crooked polititions.

Sure Republicans believe in the slippery slope. They just apply it to things like giving condoms in schools or teaching kids not that homosexuals have rights, too.
Something as silly as civil liberties doesn't warrant their concern, I guess.

There was no illegal wiretapping. There was acourt case about it decided about two weeks ago.
The judge (in chicago, I think) who said nothing was illegal as there was no wiretapping done arbitrarily.
Your facts are wrong. No charges, no grounds.
