I'm really frustrated that I can't find these answers:
1)the Exact date of publication of A farewell to Arms(I already know its in 1929)
2)The exciting force of the book (the event that allows the story to begin, NOT to be confused with the rising action or climax!)
3)out of curiosity, why do you think this is or isn't a good book?(I thought it was extremely boring)

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

PS I need citations of the pages that you found this on!!(because if I didn't look at it and try to understand, that would be cheating!)

One of 31,050 first issue copies published September 27, 1929

The event that is the "exciting force" I would think wouldn't be so much the book itself as it was considered Hemmingway was too contemporary at the time. This was the type of book available through Book of the Month Club and was for adults. And besides, the book's popularity would probably disappear quickly.

The book, as well as the movie, is a little slow but being an avid reader and being fond of the old black and white movies, I found it interesting. But wouldn't have thought so 25+ years ago....
