I am doing an independent study project and I need some ideas on what to do it on. This will be a year long process, which will then be presented in front of a panel of judges. I'm open to any field of study (ie. math, science, history, etc...). If you could possibly give me some ideas on what you would be interested in, I would greatly appreciate it. If possible, please elaborate on details. Thanks.

Maybe something about the increase of violent crimes against young girls age 9 to 15 due to the internet and predators. Interview girls and their parents. Include interviews with those who have been victimized and those who have avoided being victimized. Then maybe talk to girls who are not supervised verses girls who are. Ask all groups the same set of questions and compare answers. stuff like, how many hours a day are you online? have you ever been approached by anyone asking personal questions? you could even delve into how much knowledge each group has as to sex and other adult topics.

I'm not trying to sound sarcastic, really... but to be very honest with you, a significant part of such a project is topic generation and development, so you really must do this part on your own. What fascinates you? To what topic/issue/idea are you willing to dedicate a year of work? What matters? If you were answering your own question, what would you suggest? THAT's what you should pursue. Best of luck to you.
