A Loonie is a one dollar coin (It has a loon on the face)
A Toonie is a Two Dollar coin
Other denominations are the same as US Currency, ie: a five dollar bill is worth $5: 10, 20, 50, 100 etc
$1 Canadian does not = $1, the currency conversion changes daily
