Oh yessuh yessuh I sho do loves the watermelons I does. If Massah would be so kind to lemme fry up some chickens I sho do be gratefuls.

Many different people love watermelons! Especially served cold at a summer-time picnic. But personally my favorite fruits are strawberries and pineapples with watermelon and melons in general following in at a close 3rd...Take care.

In the south, in the late 1700's, former slaves were forced to work in watermelon fields just as they were forced to work in cotton fields. The slave owners would only allow the workers to eat the melons that weren't able to be sold at market. An over-abundant supply of melons resulted. This may be where the stereotype got started....and yes, I'm black... and love watermeloln as well.

I am BLACK and I do not like watermelon, but the white people on my job love watermelon they cut it up with other fruit and bring it for lunch and snack

Do you not love watermelons? You do not have to like them because you have different skin pigmentation, the skin does not work on the taste buds.
