You can do it as early as 7 months old when introducing a sippy cup, but you should limit it to 4oz a day. I chose to just use water in the sippy cup and my daughter liked it. I introduced juice when she turned one. Juice really isn't all that healthy and tends to give kids a sweet tooth. Either way never put it ina bottle. I think that is one of the biggest mistakes parents make these days. When juice is given ina bottle it can cause tooth decay, even if the teeth haven't come up yet. It has to do with the way the sugar in the juice pools on the gums when drank from a bottle. If you've ever seen little kids with a bunch of silver capped teeth, that's one of the main reasons why.

Ummm. You don't. They don't need juice. Babies need ALL their nutrition from their formula or breastmilk until solids are introduced. If you fill a baby up on juice, they aren't getting the nutrients they need because they'll be refusing their feedings.

The ONLY exception to this is for an infant who tends to be constipated. Then you can give one ounce of prune juice for every month of the child's age up to twice a day. That's it.

Kids do NOT need juice! Waite at least a year before even thinking about it. If you do decide to give your child juice, make sure that it is diluted. Remember it is better for them to eat the fruit than drink it. Its just full of sugar and calories. Milk and water are better.

I have a 6 month old and I dilute it with ALOT of water and a little bit of juice. You should also introduce juice in a sippy cup to prevent tooth decay.

Here u can buy juice sitable for babies from 4 months but I really don't see the need for it. My son is 10 months old and is happy with water!

They have all their life to drink juice, get the pure goodness of water into them while you can!

Dietitians and dentists say don't. It fills their tummies and there isn't much nutrition in juice (compared to breast milk or formula) and if given in a bottle it will rot their teeth but... I started giving my kids juice when they could drink from a sippy cup on their own and I water it down. Usually apple juice because it is easy to digest and doesn't stain their clothes. Hope that helps.

if you dont want your infant to be a sugar addict, i'd say hold off as long as you can. books, people, peds, etc. will tell you now that it doesnt make a difference about introducing fruits before veggies, but i'm really convinced that because i listened, that advice has failed me and my son. whatever fruit juice you intend to give him/her, give them the real thing.

"Infants" do NOT need juice. After a child is at least a year old, it is okay to give them diluted juice.
