I spotted on the 7th but my period wasnt supposed to be then. It lasted that nite and the next day. Besides the spotting my period is like 8 days late. Im on the pill. but my sister takes the pill too, and she has had two children while taking, and she does take it rite, just like me. could ib be heriditary? Is it possible that different type birthcontrol just doesnt work rite for some people( Aviane_28 ) Besides taking a pregnancy test is it possible that i could be pregnant. Im NOT stressed out so i dont see how i could miss my real period over stress, im just overly confused.

Spotting, especially earlier than your expected period, could be implantation bleeding, which means you may very well be pregnant. Please take a test ASAP. I know several people have gotten pregnant on the pill; it's not 100% effective, you know.

OK... Are talking about July 7th or August 7th?
I will assume your talking about August 7th. And 8 days late would put it about August 9th. Going by these dates:
Conception may have occured on or around: July 26, 2006
Your Due Date may be: April 18, 2006
Yes, you can get pregnant on the pill. Have you taken any antibiotics for anything in the past four weeks? Antibiotics make birth control pills fail to do thier job.
Birth control pills are not 100%, only about 97-98%, giving you a 2-3% chance of pregnancy, as you can see with your sister.
I suggest you get a home pregnancy test and take it. Positive or Negative results, go see your ob/gyn for testing. Stop taking the pill until you get a doctor's result back, and no sex either. If your not pregnant, and you have sex off the pill, you will get pregnant.
The above dates indicate that conception may have occured and you may be 5 weeks, 1 day pregnant, If you have had sex on or around July 26th, either 2-3 days before or after.
I hope this information is helpful.

I take Aviane and have for years: no pregnancy but I do spot occassionally. I stopped worrying about it, and am thinking about changing BC pills because it seems to be happening too often. I think in my case it is related to other meds I have been taking. So bottom line, if you were spotting when you were supposed to have your period, you're probably not pregnant.

I would take a test I am not sure how long you have been taking the pill but if not long then it could be your body adjusting. If your sis was taking the pill like she is supposed to she would not have 2 kids!!! If you take it properly you are protected period!

Theres a term called break through bleeding. It could just mean that that particular pill is not the right one for you. It happens to alot of people. Don't fret. It happens to my daughter. She tried like 4 different types of the pill before they found one that worked best for her. Talk to your doctor.

There are different types of pill birth control. That type might not work for you.
Make your husband wear a condom until you find out what the doctor says.

I'd say take a preg. test and go to your Dr!!! You very well could be preg. the spotting could have been implantation bleeding where the egg attaches in the womb. Definitely go see your Dr!
I've known quite a few people that have gotten preg. while on the pill!!

Birth control pills are not 100% effective. There is only one method that is - abstinence.
Go get yourself checked out.
