open pores with hot water and/or steam, use a deep cleanser and maybe something like slightly abrasive (buff puff pad)
then use a mild astringent, then take your wash cloth, dampen it with cold water and blot your face with it.

I agree with other respondents that you can't shrink your pores. I do think there are some products you can use to help minimize their appearance, primarily foundation primers. Laura Mercier's, for example, contains silicone and helps to even out the pores so that skin looks flawless when you layer a foundation on top of that.

Nothing shrinks your pores permenatly. But there are things you can do to reduce their appearance. Keeping your face clean will keep them looking smaller, as dirt and oil don't have a chance to get into them, drawing attention to larger pores. Also, after washing your face, splash it with cold water to shrink them. Then use makeup to cover areas that your sensitive about.

You cannot actually shrink your pores -- unless they're clogged with black/white heads. If they are, use the Biore pore strips. Once they're clean you can use cosmetics to help reduce their visibility. I really like the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil -- it works wonders and doesn't further clog your pores.

Okay, that's a serious health thing.
Wash your face with a sensitive care liquid soap, and rinse with cool water. and apply Toner. A toner will help shrink those pours.

I also always do a "cold water" wash of my body and hair that will close my pours. I only shower with "warm' water, its so much better for my skin.

Good luck

cold water temporarily closes pores, so will sever dehydration (i won't suggest that as a solution)
